HNC Optional Interview Overview
An admissions interview is a great opportunity to let the admissions committee learn more about your background and how the Hopkins-Nanjing Center aligns with your academic interests and career goals. Interviews are conducted in English by current students or an Admissions Officer.
Interview Format
The optional interviews are conducted by current HNC students or an Admissions Officer and serve to be both evaluative and informational. The session will be approximately 30 minutes in length and begin with questions regarding your academic and professional background, as well as your interest in Johns Hopkins SAIS. The person conducting your interview will have reviewed your resume in advance, so please prepare accordingly. The remaining time will be reserved for applicants to ask questions about Johns Hopkins SAIS and the student experience.
- Interviews are conducted between September and January and must be completed by the application deadline in order for it to be considered by the Admissions Committee.
- All interviews will be conducted virtually. You will be provided with a Zoom link in your confirmation email.
- Please note all times are listed in Eastern Time.
- Take the time to prepare for the interview to showcase your knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for our programs.
- Please ensure that you dress in a manner suitable for the interview.
