    Title:Designing Learning with AI: A Hands-On Preview
    Description:
This live, online session offers a selective snapshot of the ideas and learning activities in the School of Education’s online, asynchronous Learning Design and Technology program. We’ll begin with a brief lecture on how specific generative-AI affordances (generate, transform, simulate, and evaluate) can be used to meet clearly defined learning goals, grounded in evidence from the learning sciences. You’ll then take part in a short design exercise: choose an outcome, match it to an AI use, add an appropriate scaffold or guardrail, and justify your choices. We’ll close with a short reflection on practice and feedback. Our emphasis is on designing for outcomes and making thoughtful, defensible decisions about when and how to use AI. That stance is central to our program, shaping how we frame problems, select tools, scaffold learning, and evaluate impact.
