The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is committed to highlighting the experiences, research, and practice of various identities belonging to our nursing community. It is a priority for us to amplify the voices belonging to underrepresented communities while providing equitable and accessible opportunities for education and healthcare within our Nursing programs.
This month Participants will explore Baltimore’s legacy as a city of resilience, innovation, and culture—from its founding in 1729 to its role today as a hub for public health and community-based care. The session will also spotlight how the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is deeply rooted in Baltimore through programs that bring care directly into neighborhoods, creating meaningful, real-world clinical experiences for students. Through interactive moments, fun facts, and community highlights—including local traditions like Baltimore’s Birthday Bash—attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how the city itself serves as a living classroom for nursing education. Whether you are considering a future in nursing or simply want to celebrate the city behind the journey, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with the Hopkins community and experience the spirit of Baltimore.
(Save the date- Baltimore’s official birthday is July 30, 1729.)
